I’m a mother, a scientist,  a classically-trained mezzo.  I play with animal fiber and turn it into yarn, which I can knit or weave into something you want right next to your skin.  I paddle my own kayak.  When I’m not singing classic works, I’m figuring out how to make the jazz standards my own.  I cook with enthusiasm and curiosity, so some results are, hmmmm, interesting… but mostly I’m pretty good at it and I can bake like a champ.

What I write here are letters to the world.  Thoughts I have that I want to set down somewhere, share with someone, while they’re still bobbing around in my head. And I hope that somewhere out there, someone will read one of those letters and feel that I wrote it to them.

I was looking for comments on your blog to see if they are welcome. I didn’t look very hard but I didn’t find any on a few posts. Are they welcome?

I love comments…there just haven’t been that many on the things I write about. Feel free to share anything you’d like.
